Clean Canvas.

As much as I am obsessed with makeup and being artistically creative, I am just as tedious, if not more, with having clear and healthy skin. It wasn't until recently, when my mother finally got through to me, that I actually realized that a clean canvas exudes the right characteristics of an artist. In this case, properly displaying an effortless makeup look. The first thing that I have to stress about, especially to myself, is the consumption of water because what goes into your body shows on the outside. I am really practicing this, but I am not going to get into the details and importance of healthy eating because I am one of these people who has been saying that I will start my diet since Destiny Child were together.

What I will preach on, is investing time and a bit of money into finding the right products for your skin. For me, Neutrogena and Lush do the right job on balancing my spotty and oily skin. Lush is more on the organic side balancing my skin's PH while Neutrogina contains salicylic acid, preventing acne and erasing dark spots. I use my facial wipes and wash daily to completely remove makeup off my face wipes (use makeup remover or coconut oil to remove makeup from your eye).

Now Lush Cosmetics may be a little on the pricey side, but they are worth EVERY penny. Just make sure the expiration date isn't one that the staff are attempting to remove off the shelf and you are good to go! Mask of Magnaminty was truly love at first try. Just put a generous amount about 2-3 times a week, after using your facial wash. Leave it for 5-10 minutes and you'll be amazed at how your skin will feel. I use my Tea Tree Water Toner and Enzymion face moisturizer twice a day to make sure my skin is balanced. Keep in mind that even those with oily skin need to moisturize. When you skip this step, you overproduce the oil to fill what is missing! I know this may sound like a lot but it becomes second nature after a week or so.

I completely understand that the mentioned products may not work for everyone, but trials and errors teach you what your body likes and doesn't.  If you break out when trying out a product, give it a couple of weeks because sometimes these products are removing pimples hiding inside the surface of your skin. Stop by your nearest Lush store and request some samples (since their products are slightly above the usual skin-care budget) just to see how you react to it.
