6 THINGS TO ADD TO YOUR BUCKET LIST BEFORE THE SUMMER ENDS
I can already feel the anxiety from New York City's packed and delayed trains, the back to school ads and everyone holding their pumpkin spiced lattes. As much as I love the fall season, (can you blame me?! Thanksgiving, beautiful muted clothing, fashion week, my favorite shows are back on, I mean I can go on!) I am still trying to indulge every bit of what summer has to offer before the brisk air of winter storms are upon us. I get it, the summer heat and humidity can be absolutely unbearable sis, but I am trying my hardest to live in the present, before the days are shorter and the night are colder!
If you're a nature type of gal, one that brunches with the requirement of bottomless mimosas or simply enjoys dancing with your feet in the grass - here is a list six things you'd enjoy doing before the should have and could have days of being snowed in are here!
1. A PICNIC IN CENTRAL PARK
By the looks of these photos, it's pretty evident that a picnic before the summer ends is at the top of my list!
There's just something about taking time to literally stop and smell the roses in our busy lives, that make us appreciate it so much more. So if you're an aesthetic type of person like I am, buy some fresh flowers, fruits, magazines, refreshing drinks and sandwiches (or you can go frugal and split the cost between your date) and have the time of your life chatting about anything and everything until the sun sets. If you're not the sandwich type, you can always grab a bite at the Central Park Boathouse, a place I religiously visited when I worked in the area for 5+ years.
2. THE ROSÉ MANSION
When I first heard about the Rosé Mansion, I immediately pulled my Muslim card and declined the invitation my friend extended. But to be quite honest, doing my research has me opened to the idea of possibly attending. Although wine tasting is included in your package, I've noticed various people attending for its Instagram friendly, decorative and interactive rooms.
My point in all this is to say, whether you are opposed to drinking or team #Roséallday this place may be very fitting for you!
3. WHILE WE WERE YOUNG NYC
If this blog were a physical place, While We Were Young would be it!
Muted colors, marble and pink shades are my vice, so I will be definitely kidnapping one of my friends for a brunch date! This seemingly popular restaurant with its pretty decor and millennial friendly vibes is just to die for! Slay and eat? YES, PLEASE!
4. MOVIES NIGHT IN THE PARK
This is such a cute date night idea!
With a rapidly growing technology world, bringing something so old school back is so dope to me! I accidentally stumbled up on this on a Monday evening stroll and took a mental note to attend before the summer ended. Now the movies are somewhat ancient, (I believe due to copyright issues) but I think the experience is what's important.
5. ATTEND A MUSIC FESTIVAL
Attending music festivals was undoubtedly one of my summer 2018 highlights. I wanted to go to as many has possible but then my bank account was like "LOL, girl first of all..."
These events take a lot of planning and sometimes spending but they are totally worth it. Most festival happen in the scorching hot summer days but there are still some creeping up for Labor Day Weekend! Check out Electric Zoo 2018, it may be up your alley.
Again, to me it's all about the energy and experience - while the lineup is important, other factors are contingent on my attendance.
6. THE HAMPTONS
I mean, Montauk is never a bad idea. Period.
Spending the summer in the Hampton has been on my list for God knows how long even if I settled for a weekend. Sadly, I doubt that this will be happening for me this summer but please go so that I can vicariously live through you.
If you're in the Montauk area, (which I hear is also beautiful in the fall) set some time aside to check out Surf Lodge. It's been highly reccomended by someone who grew up in the Hamptons so I thought I'd pass this along!
